Welcome to Gen-Z Glimpse! I'm Yuzhe He, the founder of this newsletter. After earning my master’s degree in Conference Interpretation from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in June, I am now working at the Beijing headquarters of China’s official newswire, Xinhua News Agency.

My goal with Gen-Z Glimpse is to provide China Watchers, through a Gen-Z perspective, with an authentic, multidimensional, and comprehensive 真实、立体、全面 view of China - or at least help a little in that direction.

There’s already a flood of opinions on China out there. I'm not here to add more noise. My focus is on translating Chinese voices, sometimes delivering commentary, to bridge the East-West information gap. Occasionally, I'll dig into history to uncover stories that refuse to fade.

Please note that this newsletter is a personal project I started independently after joining Xinhua News Agency - it hasn't received approval from my employer, nor has it benefited from any funding or other support. Therefore, the views expressed here are mine alone. Whether this content constitutes “Grand External Propaganda” is entirely up to your interpretation.

I aim to deliver at least 3-4 articles per month, sometimes more. In recent months, the updates have been a bit sporadic due to graduation, moving, and starting my new job.
